Rooted Women

FOR WOMEN OF ALL AGES AND STAGES OF LIFE

Rooted in God's Word. Growing together.

Women bear the image of God in ways that are unique and essential to the work of the Church (Genesis 1:27). What’s more, the Bible gives us a clear and effective discipleship model that depends on women teaching women across the generations.

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled” (Titus 2:3-5).

In response to these beautiful, Biblical truths Greentree invites women in all seasons to participate in Rooted Women’s Ministry. The goal of this ministry is to see women rooted in God’s Word and growing together through frequent Bible study. Rooted also exists to help women understand their individual spiritual gifts and plug them in to opportunities within the church and community.

GET INVOLVED!

Bible studies are offered in the fall and spring. Most groups meet in homes. We are committed to pointing women to God’s Word as the source of Living Water women need most for refreshment and renewal.

In addition, we have several ongoing women’s ministries happening throughout the year including:
•  Weekly Ladies Bible studies
•  Women’s Missionary Council
•  Divorce Care

We offer high caliber events semi-annually designed to drive women toward God’s Word while providing opportunities for women to connect with each other.

Meet Lee

Women's Minister

My beloved husband and I moved to Rolla in 2012 and immediately began attending Greentree Christian Church. We married in 1982 and have two adult children. I helped lead a cancer support ministry for (mostly) women for many years and I also volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for several years in support of foster children in Phelps County. My professional background is as a leader with the US Forest Service from which I retired after 35 years of service in 2011, where I was last responsible for 15 National Forests in the midwest and northeastern United States.
I have extensive experience in leadership, human resources, employee development, and natural resources. My undergraduate degree is from Kansas University (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) and I am a Harvard Fellow. I was appointed  the first Chair of the national Learning Council and I served as an executive coach for high potentials in the >30,000 employees agency for years.

Jesus is Savior! Baptized as a little girl, I taught Sunday school and have led Bible studies for many years. As the Director of Women’s Ministries at Greentree, I am creating a learning environment, “Rooted in the Word”, and focused on the love of Jesus! I will do all I can with God’s help to encourage Greentree women. God bless you all.
